Parent/Guardian Code Of Conduct Agreement
(Signed and agreed to at time of registration.) The Vacaville Girls Fastpitch is an operation for the benefit of the children who participate. The manner in which you the parent/guardian conduct yourself has the direct effect on the League’s ability to provide a positive experience for all of the children who participate. This is in keeping with Vacaville Girls Fastpitch purpose to teach young women ages 4-18 the sport of softball, while simultaneously building self-confidence, work ethic, team spirit and overall self-worth.
The following rules and guidelines have been set to ensure the success of our League, and adherence to these is mandatory for participation in the league. I understand that by signing this document I am agreeing to support and promote this Code of Conduct. Furthermore, I understand that my failure to comply with this agreement will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including the expulsion from Vacaville Girls Fastpitch.
- I will encourage my child to play by the rules.
- I will emphasize skill development and practices and how they benefit my child.
- I will encourage good sportsmanship at all times by setting a positive example for any child participating in any activity associated with the League.
- I will remember that everyone associated with the League, is a volunteer, and that they are taking time out of their lives to provide a sporting opportunity for my child.
- I will leave the coaching to the Coaching Staff, and I will encourage my child to play in a manner consistent with a team’s strategy or plans.
- I will learn the rules of the game, and I will respect and support the Umpires and League Officials as well as their authority during games.
- I will never question, discuss, or confront Coaches at the game field, and I will take time to speak with Coaches at an agreed upon time and place.
- I understand that if something does occur with which I disagree; I will calmly seek an appropriate solution, at the appropriate time.
- I will teach my child to treat all Players, Coaches, Officials, Parents, and Spectators with respect.
- I will never ridicule or yell at my child or at other participants for making a mistake or losing a competition.
- I (and any invited guest) will not engage in any kind of unsportsmanlike conduct with any Official, Coach, Player, or Parent such as but not limited to: booing, taunting, using profane language or gestures.
- I will make every effort to ensure that my child will be on time to attend all practices and games. When this is not possible, I will provide adequate notification to the Manager or Coach of my child’s team.
- I will pick up my child from practices and games in a timely manner, remembering that my Coach’s time is valuable.
- I will support a sports environment for my child that is free from drugs and alcohol and will refrain from their use at all sports events. In addition, I will not attend any practices or games while being under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
- Out of consideration for others, tobacco use is to be at a considerate distance from the children and playing fields.
• I will respect the property and equipment used at any sports facility, both home and away.
- I will, at no time post pictures, negative messages or comments pertaining to anyone associated with Vacaville Girls Fastpitch on any social media outlet (private or public) without league permission. This includes, but is not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube, etc. Appropriate action will be taken in response to any negative comments up to and including suspension and/or removal from a team or the league.
- Inappropriate behavior or violation of rules can result in expulsion or other disciplinary action as deemed appropriate by the League Executive Board.

I will behave appropriately on and off the fields, to include my interaction with others outside of VGF activities and/or social media. I will respect the volunteers, coaches, umpires and property of Vacaville Girls Fastpitch.
I will not swear or disrupt games by arguing or harassing fans, other teams or officials.
I will support my teammates and coaches. I will encourage good sportsmanship, and not trash talk opponents, fans, teammates or umpires.
I will be on time for practice and games and will give 100% effort during practice as well as games. Practice is to learn.
Inappropriate behavior or violation of rules can result in expulsion or other disciplinary action as deemed appropriate by the League Executive Board.

Commitment to the Players
Coaches/Volunteers shall put the welfare of their athletes above all else while maintaining professional relationships with them.
Coaches/Volunteers shall encourage the athlete to exhibit sportsmanship at all times.
Coaches/Volunteers shall follow league rules.
Coaches/Volunteers will treat players with dignity and respect at all times.
Coaches/Volunteers need to understand that they are role models for their young players. They must project a proper role model image.
Coaches/Volunteers commitment to the player and the player’s commitment to the coach is an equal partnership.
Managers are responsible for their staff behavior and it is expected they attempt to control their staff and parents alike.
Commitment to the Institution
Coaches/Volunteers shall behave in such a way that they shall bring credit to the organization and to themselves. This includes on and off the fields and in social media.
Coaches/Volunteers need to have and show professional behavior. This includes on and off the fields and in social media.
Any displeasure with the leagues or Boards action or conduct shall be addressed through the proper channels and not through league families, media or public opinion. Managers/coaches are expected to restrain friends, family, players, players parents from discrediting the league or Board on and off the fields and on social media platforms. In some instances if family members continue to unjustly bash the league or Board on social media platforms or to any person action may be taken to expel or suspend the manager/coach for their families behavior.
Commitment to Other Coaches/Volunteers
All umpires, coaches and volunteers shall be treated in a professional and respectable manner both on and off the field.
Any displeasure with a coach or umpire’s action or conduct shall be addressed through the proper channels and not through league families, media or public opinion. The first step is going to the Manager of your team, then your manager bringing the situation to a board member.
All issues should be brought to the board at the onset and not left to grow into a bigger situation.

VGF has a ZERO tolerance policy regarding any violence or threats of violence. Removal from participation in the league will take place immediately.
As a member of Vacaville Girls Fastpitch, I accept the Coaches Code of Ethics and agree to abide by the principles of the Code.
VGF will be utilizing a point system for team behavior which incorporates players, parents, spectators, and coaching staff on a per game evaluation. Failure to meet point expectations can result in inability to be included in playoffs and/or expulsion from our membership. This point system can be found under policies or in the managers binder and/or outlines at your team meet and greet which is mandatory.
